But I Use That Site All The Time!

I just tried to check the spelling of a word in the previous entry on dictionary.com AND IT'S GONE. Or at least, the normal version where you could actually LOOK UP WORDS is. Now it's just another one of those pages full of links to paid sites.

For those of you who will similarly mourn the passing of one of the web's greatest resources, try this: The Merriam-Webster Online Dictonary and Thesaurus.

dictionary.com works great for me, no problems, hasn't changed a bit.

(The title bar on the site still calls it dictionary.com, but the address bar gives it as http://dictionary.reference.com - maybe if you try that you'll get the right page.)

Phew, it's back! The day I wrote this post, it was nothing but a picture of some old man with a gigantic ad for the Passion of Christ, and a list of paid links to dictionaries. What a relief!
