Jag Slutar Banta!

As of today, I have officially lost 30 pounds. I weigh about the same as I did when I started college. If I never lose another pound, it doesn’t matter because this is the target weight I wanted to hit all these years and smack in the middle of the ideal weight range for my height. Yay for me!

Super congrats. And seriously, I'd love to hear how you did it. I have no desire to weigh how much I did when I started college - I was a skinny 145 lb bean back then - but weighing less than now sure would be nice. So what are your secrets, you healthy living goddess?

First, you start with an unexpected blow that shakes the foundations of your entire world. After you lose the first 20 pounds because you're too upset to eat, you decide to take control of your life and start working out. That helps you feel human again, so you start eating and at the same time, you get into the best shape you've been in since college.

It's a brutal plan, but it's undeniably effective. And to be honest, I feel healthier and better and more confident than I have in years. And I look faaaabulous, if I do say so myself. The victory is no less satisfying than it would have been had my motivation originated in a less unhappy place, and it helped me get to a healthier place mentally, too.
